Duramax Turbos
Duramax Diesel 6600 engines have always incorporated turbochargers into their design. The first iterations of the Duramax used normally aspirated air-to-air intercoolers. Recent Duramax engines incorporate variable geometry turbochargers and air-to-air intercoolers. Garrett turbos have been used on Duramax engines since the first ones were made in 2011. Current model 2011-2012 Duramax Diesel engines use the variable geometry design turbos to deliver appropriate air intake to the engine regardless of road speed at the time.
